God didn’t make us simple. Each one of us is built in layers – like the snow on this roof. Some layers are nice and clean while others might be uneven or rough or even ugly. That also causes us to “smoothen” each other.
Right now my daughter is showing her not-so-nice teenage layer. That makes me pray for her but also for myself so I can hadle it with a layer of love instead of something coarse or angry.

Hubster dropped these huge ice cubes from our roof today. Each one of them weighs probably some 50 kg – if not more. Watching them I came to think about Living Water: When God looks i to my heart does He see it flowing freely, in beautiful refreshing streams? Or has it become like these chunks of ice – cold, heavy, stabile. So much so that it only breaks the base as well as the gutters that should lead it outside to water the ground.

Yes, it’s an ugly picture. But that’s exactly why it says what I think it says.

The horsie (her name is Martta) looks angry and dangerous and the flash makes her eye a scary looking flame. In reality, she’s a beautiful mare with amazing kind eyes and yes, she’s shy and a bit unpredictable – probably because of some past negative experiences (she’s been in “our” stable only about a month now) – but once she gets to take her time getting to know you she loves to be cuddled and noticed. In this pic she’s just yawning because she was a bit confused.

Isn’t that just like with us humans? The wounds from the past easily make us lift our fists, take out our spikes and snarl like angry dogs? Or turn our backs and escape the situation or yawn and pretend to be nonchalant.

In difficult situations it’s very difficult to show our true colours. We defend ourselves by wearing an angry or indifferent mask. But is that right?

I’m just asking… :)

I took this photo today with my Nokia N8. C and I were waiting in the car for her dad to pick up some stuff for his work site. Behind you can see the warehouse of the hardware store. Not a beautiful place!

Waiting usually is uncomfortable. You might feel cramped, cold, bored, anxious, tired… But still waiting for Dad is worth it all.

Or the Word of God.
